VCU Rugby Places 3rd in New Jersey

Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Finally a trip that rewards the boys for all their hard work!

On March 25th the VCU Men's Rugby Club left Richmond to visit New York and New Jersey for the Weekend. After a day in New York City on Saturday, it was an early wake up call to play on Sunday. VCU started the day slow but still came out on top over Caldwell University. Following that game, VCU fell to Rutgers but won their last game of the day against WPU. Having won 2 of 3 games on the day VCU placed 3rd in the tournament and immediately got back on the road for a long drive home.

“It was a great opportunity to play some rugby and have fun for a weekend. It was a nice way to end my time with the rugby club.” - Mack King (Graduating May 2022)

Pictured above is VCU captain Cecil Way chasing down the opposing WPU scrum half.
